INDOOR MEETINGS PROGRAMME 2019-2020

OUR INDOOR AND FIELD MEETINGS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED FOR THE TIME BEING DUE TO  CORONAVIRUS MEASURES



Please note the revised order of the programme of indoor meetings for 2020 for the remainder of this season of talks.

All meetings start at 19:30 and include a break for teas and coffees. In order to help reduce use of single-use plastic cups please bring your own cup or mug.

January 8th A Winter break in Kuwait by Gill Hollamby.


February 12th Scottish Spring by Andrew Lapworth. Some of the iconic birds, mammals and flora of Scotland's Caledonian forests, uplands and coasts.


March 11th March 11th   Local birdwatching and the BTO by Robert Carr.    ABWC Member Robert will explain about birding a local patch, and keeping records of birds seen in an area. The records can then be submitted to local organisations and the British Trust for Ornithology in order to follow the fortunes and population trends of birds in an area.


April 8th AGM & raffle followed by a talk:  South Africa, the Cape and Kruger National Park, by Jenny Jackson.

INDOOR MEETING & AGM WEDNESDAY 10TH APRIL 2019

Following a short AGM, Club member and former Chairman John Bartlett will be giving his illustrated talk on his 2017 visit to Canada and Alaska: The Rockies & Alaska

The meeting starts as usual at 7.30pm; please remember to bring you own cup or mug for a tea or coffee to help save using plastic cups.

13TH MARCH MEETING: TURTLE DOVES 7.30PM


The speaker at the next indoor meeting on Wednesday March 13th will be Nicole Khan, RSPB Turtle Dove Conservation Advisor. She will be talking about the Turtle Dove Project and her role. Turtle Doves have suffered a 93% decline since 1995 partly because of guns in the Mediterranean basin and also because of loss of habitat and a shortage of spring food in the UK.
