Field meetings Winter 2017

Tuesday 17th January.   Conningbrook Lakes CP.  Meet Julie Rose Stadium CP at 09.30.   A winter walk around a local site to see what's around. It can be muddy so wellies or stout shoes advisable.
 
Thursday 16th February.   Stodmarsh NNR. Meet Stodmarsh CP  at 14.30. (note time). An afternoon meeting and the intention is to stay until dusk to view any Harriers coming into roost.

Stodmarsh. Meet Stodmarsh CP.10.00.    Wetland birds in early Spring. Bring packed lunch.

Tuesday 17th May.  19.30
Hamstreet Woods.  Meet Faggs Wood CP (NB evening visit). Spring woodland birds including warblers and possible Nightingales.  Led by Heather.

Tuesday 21st June.   20.30
Kingswood, Challock. Meet CP.  Hoping for Nightjars, possibly Woodcock and other woodland birds.   NB time of late evening visit. Insect repellent, warm clothes and torches useful.

HAVE BUS PASS, WILL GO BIRDING!

Our next indoor meeting is at 7.30pm on Wednesday 9 March. 

Hold tight please!

Committee members Jenny Fairhall and Heather Silk will be talking about how they used buses and trains to visit four different birdwatching venues in England in the last few years. This will include the famous Rutland Bird Fair and the gannetry at Bempton Cliffs.

NEXT INDOOR MEETING WEDNESDAY 10 FEBRUARY 2016

Our February 10th meeting sees the return to the Club of the popular Kent bird watcher, photographer and bird ringer, John Buckingham.  John's talk is entitled "Birds- their nests, eggs and young" and everyone is bound to learn something new in what will be an enlightening and entertaining talk.

Entrance fee includes coffee/tea and biscuits.
