Ashford Birdwatchers Club Personal Data Policy. (ABWC)
This privacy policy explains how and why we use your
personal data, to ensure you stay informed and can feel confident about giving
us your information.
ABWC is committed to protecting the privacy and security of
your personal information and we abide by all relevant UK and European Data
Protection Legislation.
ABWC will not share any personal data
with any third party unless we have a
legal obligation to do this.
Personal data held.
ABWC collects membership details, such as member name,
postal address, e-mail address and phone number.
How Personal Data is used.
Personal data we hold on members is primarily used for
sending out events programmes and reminders about indoor and outdoor meetings.
It will not be shared with any third party without express permission from
members unless compelled to do so by a court with appropriate authority.
Data storage.
Personal data will be stored
securely on password protected computers.
Paper forms are held in a locked container.
Access to Personal Data.
Access to personal data will only be accessible to officers
of ABWC. Members may request in writing all personal data held on them and the
Membership secretary will take steps to ensure that the request is from a valid
member or will only provide information to the member’s postal address, if
known.
Changes to Personal Data.
If at any time, a member
wants to update or amend their personal data or preferences, they must request changes in writing with proof
of identity.
Deletion of Personal
Data.
All personal details will be deleted when members resign or die, once this information has been
received by ABWC.
